Issachar, son of Jacob

Issachar (Hebrew: יִשָּׂשכָר; Modern: Yissakhar; Tiberian: Yiśśāḵār) is the ninth son of Jacob (latter named by Hashem as Israel), with Leah. He is also the father of the Ancient Israelite Tribe of Issachar and of the Issacharites.

And Elohim hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son. And Leah said, Elohim hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.
Genesis 30:17-18

The Prophetic Blessing of Jacob prior to his death:

And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens: And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute.
Genesis 49:1-2, 14-15
