Gad (Hebrew: גָּד; Modern: Gad; Tiberian: Gāḏ) is the seventh son of Jacob (latter named by Hashem as Israel), with Zilpah. He is also the father of the Ancient Israelite Tribe of Gad and the Gadites.
And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a son. And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.
Genesis 30:10-11
